What’s Happening!

The kids are going back to school, yet you still want to travel and do some bonding.  We have many options for you!

The Saginaw Valley still has festivals taking place.  In September Frankenmuth is hosting their Annual Auto Fest, Oldies Fest and Oktoberfest.  You’ll also be able to take some classes at Zehnder’s, and special lunches and dinners at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant and Zehnder’s! 

The fall also opens the performance seasons of The Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra, the Saginaw Choral Society, the Saginaw Valley Concert Association, Pit and Balcony Community Theatre and the Broadway Series at TheDow Event Center.  The Dow also has some exciting concerts there are hosting! 

The Castle Museum, Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum and the Saginaw Art Museum will have some very interesting exhibits.  Make sure to take the kids there as well as to the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum for some quality time!

Taking a color tour is always a relaxing activity.  Visit the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge and take a hike through almost acres and acres of paths and forest.  Make sure to take a camera…the colors will astound you and you’ll be amazed at how much wildlife you’ll see.  How many varieties of birds can you spot?  If you don’t want to walk, take a boat trip with Johnny Panther Quest Adventure Trips.  You will glide quietly through the refuge on a 3-5 hour trip and when you get back to the city you will be so relaxed!

Shopping is always a favorite past time.  Prime Outlets at Birch Run has over 140 stores and many of them are offering special sales and discounts this fall.  AAA and CAA members will always save by showing your membership card, and Prime Time Shoppers ages 55+ will receive a 10% discount every Thursday when they register at Guest Services.  College Days has extra savings during the month of September, as well as a Fall Fashion Sale.  Operation Shop Pink will let shoppers save an additional 25% with a Shop Pink Card. And make sure to mark your calendar for the annual Deer Widows Weekend November 13-15 when bargain hunting is at its best!
